Mogadishi, (InsideSomalia.org) Jihadists led Islamist insurgents claimed the responsability attack overnight against Ugandan Peacekeeping troops of the AU AMISOM mission in Somalia.

Sheikh Mukhtar Robow "Abuu Mansoor"speaking to HornAfrik Radio in Mogadishu said that the Shabab fighters were behind the attack. Abuu Mansoor, who claimed to be the spokesman of the Shabab whose fighters are fighting in Mogadishu against Somali government forces backed by the Ethiopian troops did not mention if any casualties inflicted on their or to the Ugandans.

Ugandan troops did not release any comments about the attack targeted against their soldiers stationed at K4 junction in Mogadishu. Unconfirmed reports say that humanitarian activities done by the Ugandan troops especially at a medical centre at their main base at Halane, near Mogadishu’s Aden Adde International Airports were temporarily halted but no justifications were given.

On Thursday, audio tape released by one of the main Shabab leaders, Aden Ayrow vowed that Uganda with the same as Ethiopian troops will be targeted by his fighters.

The Ugandan troops dismissed the thread saying that they will respond if they were attacked.

1,500 Ugandan troops are stationed in Somalia, the troops are the only African Peacekeeping forces responded AU pledge of 8,000 strong force to restore peace and stability in the war torn country of Somalia.

Other African country whose troops would the take part the peace keeping mission in Somalia still lack financial and logistical support from United States and other European Countries.
